About tests.ws
tests.ws is a resource hub for developers working with the WebSocket protocol. The site provides technical articles, language-specific guides, online testing tools, and a free Chrome extension for debugging WebSocket traffic.
What We Offer
Knowledge Base. Articles covering WebSocket fundamentals, protocol internals, security, and architecture. Written for developers who want to understand how things work, not just copy-paste code. Browse the Learn section to start.
Language Guides. Practical guides for building WebSocket applications in JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, C#, Rust, and PHP. Each guide uses real code with real libraries. See the Guides section.
Testing Resources. Guides and tool comparisons for testing WebSocket connections, from manual debugging to automated load testing. Check the Testing section.
Online Tools. Browser-based WebSocket tester and echo server for quick connection testing without installing anything.
Chrome Extension. The WebSocket Proxy Testing Tool lets you monitor, intercept, and modify WebSocket messages directly in the browser. It is free, open source, and available on the Chrome Web Store.
Who Built This
tests.ws is built and maintained by an independent developer. The project started as a Chrome extension for debugging WebSocket connections and grew into a full resource hub.
The extension source code is available on GitHub. If you find a bug or want to request a feature, open an issue.
